IIBS Research Fellow for the academic year 2004-2005

Dr. Sylvie Hureau holds a PhD in Sinology from the Institute of Oriental Languages and Civilizations of Paris. She is attached to the Institute where she teaches readings in Chinese Buddhist texts. Her doctoral dissertation deals with the life and translation procedure of Kumarajiva. Her present research concerns the practice of uposatha in Medieval China.
